Auburn Football has been hit with a significant blow as head coach Hugh Freeze confirmed that standout defensive back Champ Anthony will be sidelined and out of the starting squad due to an injury.
The talented DB, who was expected to be a key player in Auburn’s secondary this season, suffered the setback during practice earlier this week.
Freeze did not provide a specific timeline for Anthony’s return but emphasized that the loss is a tough one for the defense.
Anthony had shown tremendous promise with his speed, instincts, and ability to cover top receivers. His absence leaves a gap in Auburn’s secondary just as they prepare for a crucial stretch of the season.
