Sad News: Patriots’ Face Major Setback as Jerod Mayo Loss Another Experienced Veteran Star Player In a Trade Bust…

The New England Patriots have suffered a significant blow as former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Chuks Okorafor has left the team and will miss the rest of the season. The 26-year-old lineman was officially placed on the reserve/left team list after unexpectedly departing late last week. His decision to quit followed being benched during the Patriots’ Week 1 game.

Okorafor’s preseason and Week 1 performances raised concerns, leading to Vederian Lowe replacing him. The veteran tackle was flagged for multiple illegal formation penalties, with the NFL cracking down on offensive linemen positioning themselves for an advantage against pass rushers.

Originally drafted by the Steelers in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Okorafor spent six seasons in Pittsburgh, where he transitioned from a swing tackle to the starting right tackle. However, his struggles last season saw him benched in favor of Broderick Jones. The Steelers released him in March, and the Patriots picked him up on a one-year deal.

Okorafor initially began as the Patriots’ starting left tackle, but his preseason struggles raised concerns. After being benched in Week 1, he made the decision to leave the team, marking the end of his season and creating yet another setback for New England’s offensive line.
