The Denver Broncos may be looking to bolster their roster ahead of the 2025 NFL season, and a major trade with the New York Jets could be the key to getting a head start. The New York Jets made waves by trading for EDGE rusher Haason Reddick, but there’s already uncertainty surrounding his future with the team. Reddick, who hasn’t yet suited up for the Jets, is seeking a contract extension, while the Jets appear hesitant to meet his demands. According to insiders Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano, the Jets may be forced to part ways with Reddick due to this contract standoff.
Reddick’s history with Denver defensive coordinator Vance Joseph adds intrigue to the potential trade. Reddick had his breakout season with the Arizona Cardinals in 2020 under Joseph’s defense, making a reunion in Denver a natural fit. His production over the past four seasons has been impressive, amassing 50.5 sacks, 51 tackles for loss, and 83 quarterback hits in just 66 games.
The Broncos, who could still use reinforcements along their offensive line, may be able to acquire Reddick at a relatively low cost given the Jets’ current predicament. Reddick is in the final year of his contract, and if he remains adamant about not reporting to New York, the Jets might have no choice but to move him before losing him in free agency.

A potential trade scenario could involve the Broncos offering a young pass rusher like Baron Browning in exchange for Reddick. This would allow the Jets to salvage some value, while Denver would add an elite EDGE rusher to an already formidable defensive front. Pairing Reddick with Jonathon Cooper and a defensive line featuring Zach Allen, DJ Jones, and Franklin-Myers would give Denver one of the most feared defensive units in the league.
With Reddick’s familiarity with Joseph’s system and Denver’s need for an impactful pass rusher, this trade makes a lot of sense for both sides. The coming weeks could reveal if the Broncos are able to pull off another key deal with the Jets and position themselves for a deep playoff run.
