The Milwaukee Brewers have announced the heartbreaking loss of Hank, affectionately known as “The Ballpark Pup,” who passed away earlier today.
Hank’s special bond with the Brewers and their fans began back in February 2014, in Maryvale, Arizona. As a stray, he wandered into the Brewers’ Spring Training facility, quickly capturing the hearts of players, coaches, and staff alike. From the moment he arrived, Hank became a beloved part of the team.
During that spring, Hank spent his days engaging in team activities at the complex and his nights safely housed with various members of the Brewers organization. Whether joining players for workouts or meeting with fans, Hank was a fixture at the ballpark.
Following Spring Training in 2014, Hank found a permanent home when he was adopted by the family of Marti Wronski, the Brewers’ Chief Operating Officer. For the past decade, Hank enjoyed a happy life in Wisconsin, surrounded by a loving family.
“Hank was a cherished member of our family, and we are forever thankful for the ten wonderful years we had with him,” said Marti Wronski. “He seemed to understand that he was rescued not just by us, but by the entire Brewers family. Hank never met a fan—or a person—he didn’t love. While our hearts are heavy without him, we are grateful for the joy he brought to so many and the attention he brought to animal rescue.”
In honor of Hank’s memory, the Brewers and Wronski family are encouraging donations to the Wisconsin Humane Society or MADACC (Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission).
