Good News: Los Angeles Dodgers Have Announced the Signing of the 28-year-old Experienced Top Star…

The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced the signing of veteran pitcher Zach Logue to a minor league contract. Logue, previously with the Detroit Tigers and Oakland A’s, will report to Triple-A Oklahoma City, as confirmed by broadcaster Alex Freedman. This move comes after Logue was recently designated for assignment by the Atlanta Braves.

The Dodgers are seizing the opportunity to add depth to their pitching staff. Logue, a 28-year-old left-hander, brings experience from his stints with multiple MLB teams. He has pitched in 17 major league games (10 starts) across 68 innings from 2022-23, holding a 3-8 record with a 6.88 ERA during that span.

Logue’s professional career began in 2017 when he was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the ninth round of the MLB Draft. He made his major league debut in 2022 with the Oakland A’s, a team he joined as part of the trade that sent Matt Chapman to Toronto. In his rookie season, Logue posted a 3-8 record with a 6.79 ERA over 17 appearances, splitting time between the majors and Triple-A.

In December 2022, Logue was claimed off waivers by the Tigers, where he appeared in three games out of the bullpen, recording a 7.36 ERA. He spent most of the year in Triple-A, going 3-10 with a 6.58 ERA.

Logue signed with the Atlanta Braves in December 2023, where he split his 2024 season between Double-A and Triple-A. He found more success at those levels, posting a 5-6 record with a 2.58 ERA across 24 games (12 starts). Despite his performance, Logue was designated for assignment before electing free agency.

A native of Mason, Ohio, Logue played collegiate baseball at the University of Kentucky. Interestingly, according to his college profile, Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw is his favorite professional athlete—a fact that may now come full circle as he joins the Dodgers organization. Logue will be looking to make an impact as he begins his new chapter with the Dodgers, starting in Oklahoma City.
