The Toronto Maple Leafs are gearing up for their annual prospects showdown this week, with General Manager Brad Treliving announcing the signing of four young unrestricted free agents to bolster the team’s roster for the event.

As the Leafs prepare for their weekend trip to Montreal, where they will face the Canadiens’ prospects in a two-game series, the showdown marks the true start of the hockey season. Leading Toronto’s rookie squad will be two of their top prospects, Easton Cowan and Fraser Minten, alongside defenseman Noah Chadwick, who had an impressive campaign in the WHL last year.

In addition to these rising stars, familiar prospect names like Nikita Grebenkin, Roni Hirvonen, Ty Voit, Topi Niemela, Dennis Hildeby, Vyacheslav Peksa, and Artur Akhtyamov are set to participate. Most of these players are expected to begin the season with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.

Joining them are free-agent signings Jacob Quillan, Braeden Kressler, and Cade Webber, adding further depth to Toronto’s lineup.
