Golden State Warriors fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief as Steph Curry has broken his silence on why he recently removed any mention of the Warriors from his Instagram bio.
During an interview with Bloomberg’s “The Circuit” host Emily Chang, Curry cleared the air about the change that had sparked concern among fans.
“I’m shooting with Steph and Ayesha Curry today,” Chang shared in a video preview on her Instagram. “I just played a nice little round of golf. I’m not asking why he took the Warriors off his Instagram. Very mindful. Very demure. … You’re not going anywhere.”
With a smile, Curry responded, “I was just proud to be an Olympian,” referencing his recent achievement of winning his first gold medal with Team USA during his Olympics debut in Paris this summer.
The confusion began when fans noticed that Curry had replaced the “Guard for the @Warriors” part of his Instagram bio with “Olympic Gold Medalist,” leaving no reference to Golden State on his profile. This led to speculation about his future with the team.
However, after signing a one-year contract extension worth $62.6 million on Thursday, which keeps him with the Warriors through the 2026-27 season, Curry reassured fans of his commitment to the team.
“You’re here forever,” Chang remarked during the interview.
“That’s the plan,” Curry replied with a laugh, putting any lingering doubts to rest.
