The Texas Longhorns have secured a major victory in the trenches with the commitment of four-star offensive tackle Nick Brooks from Grayson, Georgia. Brooks made his decision public on Friday, marking another significant addition to Texas’ offensive line.
Texas offensive line coach Kyle Flood continues to assemble one of the nation’s most formidable offensive line units, and Brooks fits the mold perfectly with his impressive size and potential. Ranked as the No. 180 player and the No. 14 offensive tackle in the 2025 class according to 247Sports Composite rankings, Brooks was highly sought after, receiving 32 scholarship offers from major programs across the country.
Originally committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes as a junior, Brooks reopened his recruitment just two months later. He eventually narrowed his choices to three schools: USC, his home-state Georgia Bulldogs, and Texas, visiting all three over the summer. The Longhorns capitalized on having the final visit, ultimately swaying Brooks away from his hometown favorite, Georgia.
Standing at an imposing 6’7” and 345 pounds, Brooks joins a Texas offensive line that has already seen success with similarly-sized players like Connor Stroh and Cam Williams. However, Brooks may require more development time due to his size and the fact that he has transferred schools four times in four years, playing in Iowa and Georgia throughout his high school career.

Brooks’ commitment moves Texas up to No. 12 in the 247Sports Composite team rankings, just outside the top 10, now positioned right behind the Oregon Ducks.
