Breaking: Nets’ Shooting Guard Cam Thomas Breaks Silence Amid His Uncertain Future Following Recent Speculations…

Cam Thomas, the Brooklyn Nets’ shooting guard, has finally addressed the speculation surrounding his future following a breakout 2023/24 season. Despite a challenging year for the Nets, Thomas emerged as a bright spot, especially with the departure of Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks. In a recent interview with Curtis Rowser III of SLAM, Thomas opened up about his plans to build on his impressive performance.

“I just want to keep working on everything,” Thomas shared. “Last summer, I focused on improving my catch-and-shoot abilities, and I think it showed—I was among the league leaders in that area this past season. So, I’ll keep refining those skills, as well as the ones I brought into the league, like my off-the-dribble shooting and finishing at the rim. My goal is to have the best catch-and-shoot percentage in the league.”

Thomas, a 6’4″ product of LSU, had a standout season, averaging 22.5 points on a .442/.364/.856 shooting split, along with 3.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 0.7 steals per game. This marked a significant improvement from his 2022/23 stats, where he averaged 10.6 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 0.4 steals per game. His remarkable progress earned him a seventh-place finish in the Most Improved Player voting.

Looking ahead, Thomas revealed that he has set ambitious goals for himself.

“I made the biggest jump in points from my second year to my third year,” Thomas said. “I averaged 22.5 [points per game], so now I’m aiming to reach that 25 ppg range. I also want to enhance my playmaking and continue developing my overall game. Hopefully, these improvements will translate into more wins for the team.”

As Thomas works to elevate his game, Nets fans and the broader NBA community will be watching closely to see how he navigates the next steps in his promising career.
