Miami Heat All-Star Bam Adebayo recently voiced his displeasure with the popular video game NBA 2K.
As NBA 2K25’s release approaches, player ratings are being revealed, and one in particular has left Adebayo frustrated. When 2K’s X account shared a graphic highlighting the top five perimeter defenders in the upcoming game, Adebayo noticed his absence and responded with a simple, “Alright 2k.”
The list of top-rated perimeter defenders is as follows:
- Jrue Holiday, Boston Celtics (95)
- Alex Caruso, Oklahoma City Thunder (94)
- Herbert Jones, New Orleans Pelicans (94)
- Jalen Suggs, Orlando Magic (93)
- Derrick White, Boston Celtics (93)
It’s evident that the ratings favor players who spend most of their time on the perimeter rather than in the paint. While Adebayo plays both on the outside and inside, his defensive assignments often draw him closer to the basket. All the players listed are 6-foot-5 or shorter, with Herbert Jones being the exception.

Adebayo is recognized as an elite defender at all three levels, making his exclusion from the list surprising. His overall rating for this category hasn’t been released yet, so there’s still a possibility he narrowly missed the top five. Last season, he earned his fifth consecutive All-Defensive Team selection, his first on the top team.
