Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Kevin Kiermaier dazzled fans with his exceptional arm strength during Wednesday night’s matchup against the Milwaukee Brewers.
In the bottom of the first inning, with the bases loaded for the Brewers, William Contreras sent a deep fly ball to center field. Kiermaier responded with a jaw-dropping throw to home plate, nailing Brice Turang, who was attempting to score from third base.
This impressive defensive feat is just one in a long list for Kiermaier, a four-time Gold Glove Award winner, including his most recent accolade in 2023 with the Toronto Blue Jays.
Despite Kiermaier’s highlight-reel play, Turang and the Brewers had the last laugh. Milwaukee snapped a three-game losing streak with a 5-4 victory over the Dodgers. Turang contributed to the win by going 1-for-2, scoring a run, and driving in an RBI with a triple in the second inning that brought Sal Frelick home.

Fans were quick to react to Kiermaier’s throw during the game:
- “Didn’t have ‘Kiermaier to Barnes for the double play’ on my 2024 Dodgers bingo card. But I’m here for it.”
- “Hell of a play!”
- “Man, it’s not like we haven’t seen Kevin Kiermaier be a defensive powerhouse for over a decade.”
- “Can we talk Kiermaier into coming out of retirement for a one-year deal? And also re-sign Teoscar? I’d love our outfield again. Kiermaier could hit .200 all year and I wouldn’t care with his defense.”
- “Oh my goodness! What a throw by Kiermaier!!!”
