Drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers with the 51st pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Boston has struggled to find consistent playing time over the past few seasons. Despite showing flashes of potential, he averaged just 10.8 minutes per game last season, his lowest yet, while shooting 40.4% from the field and a career-low 26.9% from beyond the arc.
At 22 years old, Boston has yet to establish himself as a reliable scoring or defensive presence, which has limited his opportunities on the court. However, standing at 6-foot-7 and possessing good athleticism, he still has the potential to develop into a valuable asset for a second unit.
Now, Boston has signed with the Spurs, a team led by rising star Victor Wembanyama. Although his spot on the roster isn’t guaranteed for the upcoming season, this move offers him a chance to prove himself in San Antonio. Michael Scotto first reported the news, highlighting Boston’s opportunity to reunite with former Kentucky Wildcats teammate Keldon Johnson.
As the Spurs continue their rebuilding process, Boston could find a place in the lineup if he performs well in training camp and the preseason. With the right effort and development, he has a chance to carve out a meaningful role on a young and evolving team.
