The Dallas Mavericks have officially signed forward Kessler Edwards to a Two-Way contract, the team announced today. As per team policy, the specific terms of the deal were not disclosed. In a corresponding move, the Mavericks waived Two-Way forward Alex Fudge.
Edwards, standing 6’7″ and weighing 203 pounds, has played in 138 career NBA games with the Brooklyn Nets and Sacramento Kings, including 27 starts. He holds career averages of 3.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 11.9 minutes per game. Last season with the Kings, Edwards appeared in 54 games, averaging 1.7 points in 5.1 minutes per game. During his stint with the G League’s Stockton Kings in the 2023-24 season, Edwards impressed with averages of 20.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.0 blocks over 31.1 minutes per game in four appearances, two of which were starts.
Originally selected 44th overall in the 2021 NBA Draft by the Brooklyn Nets, Edwards had a solid rookie season, starting in 23 of 48 games and averaging 5.9 points and 3.6 rebounds. Before being traded to Sacramento in the 2022-23 season, he played in 14 games for the Nets, averaging 3.9 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.0 assists.
Edwards enjoyed a standout college career at Pepperdine University, where he earned First-Team All-West Coast Conference honors in 2021, Second-Team All-WCC in 2020, and a spot on the WCC All-Freshman Team in 2019.
Kessler Edwards will wear No. 20 for the Mavericks as he looks to make his mark in Dallas.
