The Golden State Warriors are reportedly aiming to enhance their 3-point shooting capabilities.
Following an impressive performance at the NBA Summer League, Killian Tillie, a former Gonzaga Bulldogs and Memphis Grizzlies forward, has attracted significant interest from the Warriors. They are keen on adding another big man to enhance their offensive floor spacing.
Tillie concluded his college career with a remarkable 44.4% shooting percentage from beyond the arc, which could effectively complement Stephen Curry’s off-ball movement by diverting defensive attention. Additionally, the Philadelphia 76ers have also expressed interest in Tillie, highlighting the increasing importance of 3-point shooting in the modern NBA.
Killian Tillie to the Warriors?
It’s easy to see why the Warriors would be interested in signing Tillie. The 6-foot-10 forward has posted impressive career statistics that suggest he could be a valuable addition to the team’s offensive strategies. Beyond his elite 3-point shooting, Tillie averaged 9.5 points and 4.6 rebounds over four years at Gonzaga, where the Bulldogs nearly won the 2017 NCAA National Championship. Despite losing to North Carolina, Tillie made a significant impact with nine rebounds. If the Warriors sign him, he could benefit from open looks created by Draymond Green’s elite playmaking and Stephen Curry’s shooting gravity.
However, other NBA rumors suggest that Tillie could also fit well with the 76ers’ system, which now features Paul George, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey. With these three dynamic scorers drawing defensive attention, Tillie would likely find ample shooting opportunities.
