Good News: New Orleans Saints Announced the Signing of  Another Sensational Star to Fill Up Critical Injury Woes….

The New Orleans Saints bolstered their roster on Friday by signing a standout player with an impressive football lineage.

Saints Sign WR Samson Nacua, Brother of Puka Nacua

Samson is the older brother of Puka Nacua, who had one of the most remarkable rookie receiving seasons in NFL history last year. Their brothers, Isaiah and Kai, also played football at BYU, showcasing the family’s strong football tradition.

In conjunction with this signing, the Saints released veteran quarterback Nathan Peterman, leaving Derek Carr, Jake Haener, and Spencer Rattler as the remaining quarterbacks on the roster.

Standing at 6-3 and weighing 206 pounds, Nacua was originally signed by the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent following the 2022 NFL Draft and participated in their training camp. In 2024, he played for the UFL’s Michigan Panthers, recording 11 receptions for 125 yards. He also appeared in two games for the USFL’s Pittsburgh Maulers in 2023.

Wide receivers Cedrick Wilson Jr., Equanimeous St. Brown, and Bub Means are currently sidelined with injuries and did not practice on Friday. Chris Olave has also been dealing with minor injuries during the offseason.

Adding Nacua is a sensible move. Head coach Dennis Allen highlighted Nacua’s blocking skills, a trait highly valued by the Saints in their depth receivers.
