Official Updates: Warriors owner Joe Lacob Shares Shocking Updates on Brandin Podziemski Trade Speculations…

Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob recently spoke with NBA reporter Tim Kawakami of The Athletic, addressing rumors about potential trades involving Brandin Podziemski and Jonathan Kuminga. Lacob made it clear that he is not eager to part with these young talents.

The Warriors are reportedly interested in acquiring Utah Jazz star Lauri Markkanen, with multiple sources indicating that a trade would likely involve Podziemski and/or Kuminga.

“I’m not going to get into specifics like that, there’s no way,” Lacob stated. “But I don’t want to give him up, or JK. We love these guys. And Moses (Moody), Trayce (Jackson-Davis)—these are good young players.”

Lacob acknowledged that while trades are a possibility, the team values its current roster. “Now, everyone can be traded. Anyone and everyone. If it means that we’re going to be better as an organization, we’re going to acquire someone that just really makes sense going forward and we felt the deal was fair and it was something we should do, there probably isn’t anyone on this team other than maybe one guy, maybe two, that couldn’t be traded.”

After missing the playoffs in 2024, the Warriors saw Klay Thompson leave for the Dallas Mavericks in free agency. To bolster the roster, the team signed Buddy Hield, Kyle Anderson, and De’Anthony Melton.

“I do view that our window is a little longer than people think,” Lacob continued. “If there’s such a thing as a window. But with respect to Steph (Curry), let’s just say…I think the window’s probably longer than people give it credit for. He’s in remarkable shape. I do not see some big slowdown from Steph here. In fact, I would argue he’s one of the best players on the Olympic team.

“I don’t see it closing anytime soon. We all have to understand that Father Time is undefeated and eventually that will be the case. But we don’t look at it, honestly, like it’s a window this year, it has to be this year, what can we do, all in. We’re always trying to make our team as absolutely good as it can be because we’re trying to win championships.”
