SAD NEWS: Tennessee Head Coach Josh Heupel Shares Worrying Injury Updates…

Tennessee running back Cam Seldon is expected to take on a significantly larger role in 2024, following Jaylen Wright’s departure for the NFL. While Dylan Sampson will remain the primary starter, Seldon is anticipated to become a crucial No. 2 back for the Volunteers.

Unfortunately, Seldon sustained a shoulder injury during spring camp, preventing him from finishing the spring portion of the offseason. Head coach Josh Heupel addressed the media on Tuesday to provide an update on Seldon’s condition.

“He’s done a great job during the rehab process. He’s on pace right now. As we go throughout training camp, his ability to go through what we’re doing will increase,” Heupel stated. However, it appears Seldon will not be fully ready for the start of fall camp and will need more time to return to full strength as the season approaches.

In the meantime, Tennessee will rely on DeSean Bishop, Khalifa Keith, and Peyton Lewis to support Dylan Sampson until Seldon is healthy enough to resume his role as the No. 2 back.
