San Antonio Spurs Add Another Rising Star with Two-Way Contract
Earlier in the offseason, the San Antonio Spurs secured guards David Duke Jr. and Jamaree Bouyea with two-way contracts, leaving one final spot open. The team has now announced the signing of rookie small forward Harrison Ingram to fill this last two-way contract slot.
Harrison Ingram Joins the Spurs
Ingram, drafted with the 48th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, hails from Texas and had a notable collegiate career at Stanford and North Carolina. His impressive performance last season earned him a spot on the All-ACC Third Team.
During the Summer League, Ingram played seven games across the Las Vegas and California showcases, averaging 10 points, 6.57 rebounds, and 1.43 assists per game. He also demonstrated his shooting skills with a 38.2% field goal percentage and 40.6% from beyond the arc.
Spurs’ Busy Offseason
The Spurs are coming off a challenging season with a 22-60 record, missing the playoffs for the fifth consecutive year. However, the future looks promising with several key additions and rising stars. Last year’s No. 1 overall pick, Victor Wembanyama, delivered a stellar rookie season, earning Rookie of the Year and finishing as the runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year.

This offseason, the Spurs have been active in strengthening their roster. They signed legendary point guard Chris Paul and former NBA champion Harrison Barnes. Additionally, they picked guard Stephon Castle with the No. 4 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. Although a playoff appearance next season might be a stretch given the competitive Western Conference, the Spurs have elevated themselves from the bottom tier to mid-tier status in the conference.
The Future for Harrison Ingram
While Ingram may not see extensive playing time with the main team under a two-way contract, the Spurs’ decision to sign him reflects their confidence in his potential. He is expected to spend most of his time with the Austin Spurs, the team’s G League affiliate, where he can further develop his skills and aim to become a valuable role player in the future.
