Good News: Georgia Football Add Another Sensational 4-star Cornerback to Bolster Kirby Smart’s Roster…

Georgia has secured a significant commitment for the 2026 class, flipping a top target from the USC Trojans.

The Bulldogs’ impressive streak of recruiting blue-chip defensive backs shows no signs of slowing down, now extending into the 2026 recruiting cycle. On Monday afternoon, Dominick Kelly, a 4-star cornerback from IMG Academy (Fla.), announced his flipped commitment from USC to Georgia, sending shockwaves through the recruiting world. Kelly had been committed to the Trojans since March, but Georgia’s persistent efforts, led by coach Donte Williams, gradually eroded USC’s lead.

The pivotal moment came over the weekend when Kelly informed USC coaches of his decision to decommit and switch his commitment to Georgia, as confirmed by Dawgs247.

This commitment is part of a successful trend for Georgia’s defensive backs coaches Donte Williams and Travaris Robinson. Since the beginning of June, they have landed six 4-star prospects, including Todd Robinson, Shamari Earls, Jaylan Morgan, Rashad Johnson, Jontavius Wyman, and now Dominick Kelly. This validates Kirby Smart’s decision to bring this dynamic recruiting duo together.

Kelly’s flip makes him the second 2026 defensive back recruit to join Georgia in the past week, following Jontavius Wyman’s commitment on Saturday. Along with quarterback Jared Curtis, Wyman and Kelly are commits No. 2 and No. 3 in Georgia’s 2026 group.

With Kelly’s commitment, Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class jumps into the top 5, surpassing Oklahoma, Syracuse, Miami, LSU, and Oregon to land at No. 5 with a class score of 75.13.

Kelly received his offer from Georgia in January, and the consistent communication with Williams and Robinson played a crucial role in his decision. Despite heavy interest from other programs like Notre Dame, Florida State, and Tennessee throughout the year, Kelly chose to commit to Georgia.

Ranked as a 4-star prospect in the 2026 class by the 247Sports recruiting team, the 6-foot-1, 175-pound cornerback from IMG Academy (formerly of Robinson, Fla.) is the nation’s No. 21 cornerback, the No. 40 prospect from Florida, and the No. 246 overall recruit.
