Breaking News:  Jon Scheyer Name-checks Key  Duke’s Star to Watch An Eye On…

Zeke’s father was quite a legend at Duke in his time.

Among all who have played at Cameron, perhaps none have connected with Duke fans as deeply as Shane Battier.

If you wanted to choose someone who embodied Duke Basketball, you could hardly do better than Battier. He was intelligent, witty, and became the face of Duke in a unique way. And that doesn’t even touch on how he played the game. Battier was, and remains, an ideal Blue Devil. His performance in the 2001 national title game was legendary—no one has ever worked harder than Battier did in that game. It was the perfect example of leaving everything on the floor.

Now, like his former teammate Carlos Boozer’s twin boys, Battier has a son making a name for himself.

Zeke Battier is a 6’6″ prospect in the class of 2027. Last year, at Ransom Everglades in Miami, young Battier averaged 24.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, 1.5 steals, 1.0 blocks, and 1.3 assists per game.

This year, he’s moving to Charlotte to play for Providence Day. While his potential is still unfolding, would Duke fans embrace him?

Shane Battier

Absolutely.

And it would give a whole new meaning to “Who’s your daddy? Battier!”
