Good News: HC Willie Green Received Major Boost as Pelicans Announced the Addition of Another Top Star to Bolster His Roster…

Antonio Reeves signs his first NBA contract with the Pelicans, bringing a significant boost to head coach Willie Green’s lineup.

Reeves, drafted 47th overall by the Orlando Magic and traded to New Orleans, has inked a three-year deal worth $5.41 million. This marks a significant milestone for the Kentucky Wildcats All-American.

Reeves is coming off an impressive collegiate career, averaging 20.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game in his final season. His 44% shooting from beyond the arc in 2023-24 was the best of his college career, solidifying his reputation as one of the top shooters in Kentucky history, alongside teammate Reed Sheppard.

In his first season at Kentucky, Reeves earned the title of 2022-23 SEC Sixth Man of the Year and followed up with an All-SEC First-Team selection in 2023-24.

During five summer league games, Reeves averaged 11.8 points per game and shot 32% from three-point range. In his final summer league game, he scored 18 points, hitting 4 of 10 from beyond the arc, despite New Orleans losing all five games.

Reeves’ addition to the Pelicans is expected to bring much-needed depth and shooting prowess to the team.
