SAD NEWS: Miami Heat President Announced the Sad Departure of the 27-year-old Star…

Former Miami Heat forward Chris Silva has signed a contract with Israeli basketball club Bnei Herzliya, a member of the Israeli Basketball Premier League, according to HoopsHype.

Before deciding to continue his professional career in Israel, Silva played a significant role for the College Park Skyhawks, the Atlanta Hawks’ G League affiliate, during the 2023-24 season. After his stint in the G League, he spent time playing in Puerto Rico.

In 25 appearances with the Skyhawks during the G League’s regular season, Silva averaged 17.0 points per game on 52.5 percent shooting, along with 8.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.0 steal, and 1.1 blocks per game. He maintained similarly impressive numbers during the Skyhawks’ run in the G League Showcase Cup, averaging 17.2 points per game and leading the team in free throws made per contest (3.5).

Silva began his NBA journey with the Heat during the 2019-20 regular season, appearing in 44 games and averaging 3.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.5 blocks per game. He was part of the Heat team that reached the NBA Finals that season. However, after his rookie season, Silva found it challenging to secure playing time in the NBA. He was traded during his sophomore season and subsequently bounced around the league, including stints with the Sacramento Kings, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Dallas Mavericks. His last NBA appearance was during the 2022-23 season with the Mavericks.

It remains to be seen if Silva can translate his G League success to the Israeli Basketball Premier League in the 2024-25 season. Given his strong performance with the Skyhawks, it is likely that he will receive consistent playing time with Bnei Herzliya.
