Cooper Flagg won’t be the only member of his family in North Carolina this fall. His brother, Ace Flagg, will be playing at Greensboro Day (NC) this season. The Flagg brothers, who played together at Montverde Academy (Fla.) for the past two seasons, will now be less than 60 miles apart.
Originally a member of the Class of 2025, Cooper Flagg reclassified to 2024 and committed to Duke. Ace Flagg’s transfer to Greensboro Day was first reported by Phenom Hoop Report. The 6-foot-7 forward is not ranked in the 247Sports recruiting rankings but holds offers from West Virginia, Bryant, George Washington, Florida Gulf Coast, Saint Joseph’s, and Maine, where the family is from.
This season will likely be the last time the brothers are in close proximity during a basketball season, as Cooper Flagg is projected to be the No. 1 selection in the 2025 NBA Draft after playing one season with Duke.
Ace Flagg joined Cooper during his official visit to Duke in October for the team’s Countdown to Craziness. At Montverde Academy, Ace played in 27 games, averaging 2.6 points and 1.3 rebounds per contest as the program captured another National Championship. The transfer should provide Ace with more playing time and boost his recruitment prospects this season.
The Flagg brothers will return to their home state of Maine in August to run a youth basketball camp. They previously played in a two-night sold-out event at the University of Maine in January with Montverde Academy.
Duke will open its season against Maine on November 4 inside Cameron Indoor Stadium.
