Good News:  Josh Heupel Provides Major Boost for the Vols’ with the Signing of Another Sensational Star…

Josh Heupel, hailing from Aberdeen, continues to elevate Tennessee’s football program as he enters his fourth year as head coach.

The Volunteers have been projected to finish seventh in the SEC after achieving a 27-12 record under Heupel’s leadership over the past three years.

In the ever-evolving SEC, Heupel now has company from his home state. Kalen DeBoer of Milbank has taken the helm at Alabama, and the Tennessee Volunteers are no longer the sole team in orange, with the University of Texas joining the conference.

This past week in Dallas, Heupel represented Tennessee at the SEC Media Days. His tenure on Rocky Top has been marked by success, including a 27-12 record, an SEC Coach of the Year award in 2022, and the program’s best performance since the Philip Fulmer era.

Despite being picked seventh overall in the SEC this year, Heupel remains optimistic. With a wealth of returning talent, both he and his players are confident they can surpass expectations.

A key highlight for Heupel this season will be the Vols’ first conference game against SEC newcomer Oklahoma on September 21st. This game will be significant as it marks Heupel’s return to the school where he quarterbacked the team to a National Championship in 2000.

A month later, on October 19th, Heupel will face fellow South Dakotan Kalen DeBoer when Tennessee plays Alabama in Knoxville.
