The Seminoles Hold Commitments from Two of the Top Offensive Linemen in the 2025 Class

Florida State is quietly assembling one of the premier offensive line classes for the 2025 recruiting cycle, boasting commitments from five-star Solomon Thomas and four-star Peyton Joseph. However, the program faced a major setback as they lost out on another top target.

Five-star offensive tackle Ty Haywood announced his commitment to Alabama over Florida State, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and TCU on Sunday afternoon. Haywood, one of the Seminoles’ most sought-after prospects, chose the Crimson Tide, leaving head coach Mike Norvell and offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins to search for alternative options to complete their offensive line class.

The Texas native made his final official visit to FSU from June 21-23, marking only his second trip to Tallahassee since receiving an offer over a year ago. Despite the Seminoles’ efforts, it wasn’t enough to secure his commitment. However, they are expected to remain persistent in their pursuit leading up to the Early Signing Period.

Florida State continues to target other top recruits, including five-star Josh Petty, four-star Ziyare Addison (currently committed to Oregon), four-star Mario Nash (Mississippi State), and three-star Max Buchanan (Miami). Petty, a highly-touted prospect, is set to make his decision in August, with Florida State considered a strong contender.

Haywood, standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 285 pounds, is ranked as the No. 11 overall prospect, the No. 2 offensive tackle, and the No. 4 recruit in Texas for the 2025 class according to 247Sports.

Despite this setback, Florida State holds 12 verbal commitments in the #Tribe25 class, which currently ranks No. 17 in the nation.
