Good News: Spurs Confirmed Major Boost for Gregg Popovich’s Roster with the Addition of the 25-year-old Talent…

Former Missouri star D’Moi Hodge has been added to the San Antonio Spurs’ summer league roster, providing a new opportunity for the talented guard. Hodge most recently played the 2023-24 season for the South Bay Lakers, the G-League affiliate of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Initially listed on the Sacramento Kings’ summer league roster, Hodge will now be playing for the Spurs. He will join forces with Spurs’ top pick, Stephon Castle, and is expected to complement the roster well with his reliable “3&D” skills.

The 6-foot-3 guard has one year of NBA experience, appearing in seven games for the Los Angeles Lakers last season. Despite going undrafted in 2023, Hodge fought for a roster spot and eventually earned a contract, showcasing his potential to compete at the highest level.

Hodge’s career journey is notable, having come to the United States from the British Virgin Islands to play basketball. He played high school basketball in Ludowici, Georgia, before committing to the State College of Florida. After his sophomore year, Hodge transferred to Cleveland State, where he began his Division I basketball career. Following two successful seasons at Cleveland State, he transferred to the University of Missouri.

At Missouri, Hodge quickly became a leader for the Tigers. In his graduate year, he averaged 29 minutes per game, helping lead his team to the NCAA tournament. He averaged 14.7 points per game and shot 40% from three-point range, solidifying his status as an NBA prospect.

Hodge has persevered through numerous challenges in his career and is still striving to find a permanent home in the NBA. Known for his determination and skill, the former Missouri star is expected to make a significant impact whenever called upon.

The Spurs are scheduled to play three more summer league games this week, which can be watched on ESPN2 or NBA TV.
