Catcher Travis d’Arnaud is set to make his return to the Atlanta Braves’ lineup, catching for Chris Sale in Sunday’s series finale against the San Diego Padres.
The Braves aim to end the series on a high note before heading into the All-Star break. After winning the opener on Friday, Atlanta suffered a shutout loss on Saturday. Chris Sale will take the mound for the Braves, while the Padres will counter with right-hander Randy Vasquez.

d’Arnaud will bat sixth in the lineup and has a solid track record against Vasquez, going 2-for-4 in previous matchups. Marcell Ozuna, hitting fifth, also boasts strong numbers against Vasquez, with a 3-for-4 record, including two doubles and a home run.
For the Padres, Manny Machado will play third base and bat third. Machado has a good history against Sale, going 7-for-22 with two doubles and a homer. Xander Bogaerts will bat cleanup and play second base, with a 5-for-15 record and a double against Sale.

The first pitch for Sunday’s game is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Southeast.
