The Georgia Bulldogs football program is once again in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. On Thursday morning, several sources announced that two more Bulldogs were arrested this week on separate misdemeanor charges of reckless driving.
Starting linebacker Smael Mondon and offensive tackle Bo Hughley were the latest players charged with reckless driving, adding to a growing list of similar incidents within the program. This disturbing trend follows a tragic event in January 2023, when Georgia offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy were killed in a racing-related accident.

- May 2023: Wide receiver De’Nylon Marquez Morrissette, driving too fast, following too close, DUI
- March 2023: Defensive lineman Jalen Carter, speeding
- February 2023: Linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson, racing on highway/streets and reckless driving
Kirby Smart’s Response
In light of these incidents, head coach Kirby Smart has faced increasing scrutiny. His recent comment on the matter has gone viral, drawing widespread criticism. Many are calling for Smart to be held accountable for his players’ actions, suggesting that a suspension might be in order.
