Imposing defenseman Nikita Zadorov has ambitious plans for his tenure in Boston.
Nikita Zadorov fondly recalls his first NHL goal.
Brad Marchand, on the other hand, might prefer to forget it.
In his second career game with the Sabres, Zadorov eluded Marchand at the blue line, executed a give-and-go with Steve Ott, then dashed past Carl Soderberg to backhand a shot past Bruins goalie Chad Johnson in 2013.
“I remember the goal. Marchy was on the ice. He took a minus, so I’m going to let him know,” Zadorov said, showcasing his knack for playful banter.
“But, I mean, it’s your first NHL goal. It’s a memory for the rest of your life,” added Zadorov, the towering defenseman, who recently toured the Bruins’ practice facility and the city of Boston for the first time since signing his six-year, $30 million free agent contract. “I have the puck. I have a full frame of the puck and everything, so it’s definitely a cool memory.”
