Breaking: Just In Duke Basketball Finally Beat Top Rivals to Land Four-star Sensational Player…

Duke basketball coaches have triumphed in the intense recruiting battle against top rivals, securing a commitment from four-star guard Acaden Lewis.

Acaden Lewis, a standout at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., is one of the few rising high school seniors to hold offers from every modern blueblood program. Duke became the latest contender three weeks ago when third-year head coach Jon Scheyer officially extended an offer to the 6-foot-2, 170-pound guard, following an impressive performance at the DC Live prep showcase.

On Wednesday, Lewis announced his top eight suitors, including Duke, UNC, Kentucky, and UConn, with Syracuse, Tennessee, Auburn, and Michigan rounding out the list. Notably, Kansas, which had extended an offer shortly before Duke, did not make the cut.

Starting the year ranked No. 100 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, Lewis has since surged to No. 47. He visited Duke’s archrival, UNC, in late June and has already scheduled an official visit to Chapel Hill for the first weekend of October.

Lewis plans to visit all eight of his finalists before making a decision, aiming to announce his choice by the early signing period in November.

In a recent interview with Zagsblog’s Charlie Parent, Lewis spoke highly of the Duke basketball program, highlighting its strong connections to the DMV area.

“They have somewhat of the DMV pipeline with guys like Trevor Keels, Darren Harris, and Pat Ngongba,” Lewis explained. “They’ve had a pipeline and successful guys from this area, so it’s great to see that they think I could be the next big thing from this area.

“I have a great relationship with Coach Scheyer and his staff. They just seem fired up about me and think I can come in and play big minutes right away.”

With his commitment, Duke secures a significant addition to their roster, strengthening their future lineup and showcasing their recruiting prowess.
