Breaking: Hawks Have Reached a Mutual Agreement to Re-Signing the 27-year-old Guard…

After a disappointing 2023-24 season, the Atlanta Hawks have made significant offseason moves. One notable change was trading former All-Star Dejounte Murray to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for four players and two first-round draft picks.

Rumors are swirling that Atlanta might also trade three-time All-Star Trae Young in the near future.

However, one player who will remain with the Hawks is Vit Krejci. ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Krejci has agreed to a four-year, $10 million contract to stay with the team.

Krejci, a 6-foot-8, 195-pound guard, debuted in the NBA with the Oklahoma City Thunder during the 2021-22 season. That season, he averaged 6.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game over 23.0 minutes per contest.

Over the past two seasons, Krejci has been with the Hawks and had a brief stint in the G League with the Iowa Wolves.

The Hawks made unexpected trips to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2015 and 2021 but have otherwise been a mediocre team for most of the past 50 years.

While Trae Young is a star, many don’t see him as a true franchise player capable of leading a team to a championship. Atlanta will need to decide whether to keep him or trade him for assets to start a rebuild.

With the Eastern Conference becoming increasingly competitive, now might be the ideal time for the Hawks to consider a rebuilding phase.
