Breaking: Miami football Hit a Mutual Agreement to land 4-star 2026 Sensational Talent to Boost Mario Cristobal’s Roster…

The Miami football program continues to heat up on the recruiting trail, securing a commitment from 4-star 2026 quarterback Dereon Coleman on Wednesday.

This commitment marks the third for Miami’s 2026 class, joining linebacker Jordan Campbell and wide receiver Malachi Toney. With this addition, Miami’s recruiting momentum remains strong, positioning the Hurricanes with the fourth-ranked class nationally and second in the ACC, trailing only Florida State, according to On3 rankings. Miami is on pace to sign a top-10 recruiting class for four consecutive seasons from 2023 through 2026 and is expected to enter the top 10 for the 2025 class later this week.

Coleman is ranked as the 302nd overall prospect, the 21st quarterback, and the 56th player in Florida, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. His profile on 247Sports shows that he has taken unofficial visits to Florida, Central Florida, and Oklahoma, with offers from TCU and South Carolina as well.

Andrew Ivins, the 247Sports scouting director, praised Coleman for his live arm, velocity, and quick release. Ivins noted that Coleman can escape pressure but needs to improve his internal clock and continue to develop physically.

As a sophomore in 2023, Coleman completed 63.4 percent of his passes for 2,236 yards, 16 touchdowns, and six interceptions, adding 247 rushing yards and four touchdowns. These are impressive numbers for a sophomore starting on varsity, with significant potential for growth in his remaining high school seasons.

Coleman is the ninth-highest-rated quarterback to commit in the 2026 class and second in the ACC. Brady Smigiel, who is committed to Florida State, is the fifth-ranked quarterback in the 2026 class and the highest-ranked quarterback committed to an ACC school. Boston College is the only other ACC program with a 2026 QB commit in the top 66.

Miami is expected to secure more commitments this week. Four-star 2025 safety Hylton Stubbs is set to announce his decision on Thursday, and center S.J. Alofaituli will reveal his collegiate choice on Friday. Should both commit to Miami, the Hurricanes would move into the top 10 for the 2025 recruiting class.
