The latest retooling of the Maple Leafs has officially begun with the signings of defensemen Chris Tanev and Oliver Ekman-Larsson. While these acquisitions are significant, they are just the beginning of the changes needed to bolster the team’s chances.
In addition to the new signings, the Leafs have extended contracts for Joseph Woll, Max Domi, and Timothy Liljegren. Despite these extensions, the organization recognized the necessity of bringing in fresh talent, particularly on the blue line, to remain competitive.
As Treliving continues to shape the roster, the focus remains on strengthening the team to conquer the challenging Atlantic Division. The journey is far from over, but these moves mark a crucial step in the right direction.
