Breaking: Jim Montgomery Has a Big Void to Fill as Bruins Confirm the Departure of Another Key Player…

The Boston Bruins face another significant departure as depth forward Anthony Richard has signed with the Philadelphia Flyers.

Richard’s Journey and Impact

Anthony Richard, who split the 2023-24 season between the Providence and Boston Bruins, inked a two-year, two-way contract with the Flyers on Tuesday. The deal carries an average annual value (AAV) of $775,000.

The 27-year-old contributed one goal and two assists in nine NHL games for the Bruins after joining them last summer. Over his career, Richard has tallied four goals and four assists in 24 NHL games, playing for the Bruins, Canadiens, and Predators. Nashville initially drafted him in the fourth round in 2015.

The Bruins appreciated Richard’s performance but sent him back to Providence to avoid exposing him to waivers. In 59 regular-season games for the P-Bruins, Richard recorded 25 goals and 30 assists, totaling 55 points.
