Done Deal: Bruins Confirm Signing of 26-year-old Depth Forward Max Jones
The Boston Bruins have officially signed Max Jones to a two-year contract worth a total of $2 million. With an average cap hit of $1 million, the deal extends through the end of the 2025-26 season.

Drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the first round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, Jones showcased his offensive capabilities during his time in the Ontario Hockey League. After his team’s playoff elimination, he was reassigned to the Ducks’ American Hockey League affiliate, the San Diego Gulls. Joining the Gulls during their playoff run, Jones recorded a goal and an assist in nine games.
Debut, Development, and Injury
Jones made his NHL debut in January 2019, playing 30 games with the Ducks before being sent back to the Gulls for another playoff run. An injury sidelined him after eight games. His first full NHL season came in 2020-21, where he registered 11 points in 46 games. Although he made the team out of training camp in 2021-22, a torn pectoral muscle limited him to just two games.

In the 2022-23 season, Jones played in 69 games, achieving a career-high of 19 points with an increased role. Despite being a key part of the Ducks’ plans for the 2023-24 season, he missed 30 games due to various injuries.
