Two standout Georgia Bulldogs have been named among the top 25 returning players in college football, giving the team a significant edge heading into the new season.
As the Georgia Bulldogs gear up for another strong year, they are widely considered one of the top contenders for the national championship. A major factor in their high expectations is the return of several key starters who opted to stay in college instead of entering the draft. This decision puts the Bulldogs in an excellent position for the 2024 college football season.
Two of the most prominent returnees are quarterback Carson Beck and safety Malaki Starks. Beck decided to come back for another season, while Starks enters his third year of college football. Both players are highly regarded at their positions, and 247 Sports has included them in their list of the top 25 returning players this year. Starks ranked 12th, and Beck came in at 8th. Malaki Starks:
“Starks is the top safety in college football and a reigning consensus first-team All-American. His return to the Georgia defense is crucial for a unit that has undergone significant changes. After two remarkable seasons, he will be the heart of the defense.”
Carson Beck:

Both Beck and Starks were the highest-ranked players at their positions on the list and are projected as early first-round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. They will play pivotal roles in Georgia’s success this season. With challenging road games against Ole Miss, Texas, and Alabama, the Bulldogs will rely heavily on their stars on both sides of the ball.
Currently, Beck is attending the Manning Passing Academy, alongside other top quarterbacks in college football. Expectations are high for him to have a standout season, and he is putting in the necessary work to make it happen.
Georgia kicks off their 2024 season on August 31st at 12:00 EST against the Clemson Tigers at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
