The Braves’ 2024 season has been marred by injuries, but there’s hope for key players returning at crucial times. Ian Anderson is progressing from Tommy John surgery, A.J. Minter has started his rehab for a hip issue, and Michael Harris is resuming baseball activities after a recent hamstring strain. He may soon begin a rehab assignment and could rejoin the team shortly.
Tyler Matzek is also recovering from elbow inflammation, which sidelined him in April. Given his recent Tommy John recovery and decreased velocity, his future with the team is uncertain unless he shows significant improvement.
Despite these setbacks, Atlanta remains strong, leading the Wild Card race and staying close to the Phillies in the NL East. If they can maintain their position, reinforcements are on the way. Many key players will return from the Injured List, and GM Alex Anthopoulos is expected to be very active at the trade deadline, fully aware of the team’s needs and ready to act.
