Breaking: Yankees Have Finally Hit a Mutual Agreement to Trade $70 million Superstar In Exchange for 3-Promising Youngsters…

In a significant move, the New York Yankees have reportedly agreed to trade a $70 million infielder in exchange for three promising young players.

Yankees Trade Proposal: Ryan McMahon to the Bronx

Aaron Judge and Juan Soto have been delivering for the Yankees, but they could use more support. Could GM Brian Cashman convince the Colorado Rockies to part with third baseman Ryan McMahon?

Proposed Trade:

  • Yankees receive: Infielder Ryan McMahon
  • Rockies receive: RHP Will Warren, OF Brandon Mayea

Jim Bowden of The Athletic weighed in on this hypothetical deal, stating, “This trade makes sense for both sides. McMahon would be an excellent fit as the Yankees’ next third baseman. The return is fair, though the Rockies might push for Oswaldo Cabrera as a fourth player.”

Prospects in the Deal

MLB.com ranks Will Warren and Brandon Mayea among the Yankees’ top 10 prospects. Warren is nearly major-league ready in Triple-A, while Mayea, just 18, is showing promise in Rookie Ball.

Yankees’ Interest in McMahon

Reports suggest the Yankees are keen to upgrade their infield by the trade deadline. Acquiring McMahon to play third base would bolster Aaron Boone’s lineup. Previously, ESPN’s Jeff Passan connected McMahon to the Yankees, noting his potential fit.

McMahon is enjoying a strong season, batting .277/.353/.476 with 14 home runs and 42 RBIs. His .830 OPS would be a career high if the season ended now. His versatility and contract—signed through 2027—make him an attractive option for the Yankees.

Rockies’ Stance on McMahon

Despite trade speculation, the Rockies are reportedly not looking to move McMahon. According to the Denver Post, owner Dick Monfort values McMahon, who is considered a key part of their infield with shortstop Ezequiel Tovar.

However, while the Rockies’ current stance is firm, circumstances can change as the trade deadline approaches. With about a month left, the Yankees might still explore this option.
