Breaking: Darko Rajaković Confirms Big Boost for the Raptors’ After a Crucial Incident at the NBA Draft…

Toronto Raptors Select Ja’Kobe Walter with the 19th Pick

The Toronto Raptors have selected Ja’Kobe Walter from Baylor University with the 19th overall pick in the NBA Draft.

Ja’Kobe Walter is now the newest addition to the Toronto Raptors. The team selected him 19th overall in the NBA Draft on Wednesday, making him their first and only pick in the first round. This selection came after the Raptors lost their original lottery pick (the 8th) to the San Antonio Spurs. The 19th pick was acquired by Toronto as part of the Pascal Siakam trade with the Indiana Pacers.

The draft did not go as many mock drafts predicted. Several players that were anticipated to be options for Toronto at the 19th pick were already off the board by the time the Raptors were on the clock. Zach Edey went 9th overall to Memphis, Devin Carter was picked by Sacramento, and Jared McCain went to Philadelphia.

Walter, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard, is highly regarded as an elite scorer by scouts. During his single season at Baylor, he averaged 14.5 points per game, shooting 37.6% from the field and 34.1% from three-point range. His impressive performance earned him the Big-12 Freshman of the Year Award.

Walter addresses Toronto’s need for a strong shooter off the bench and has the potential to develop into a solid rotation player behind guards like Quickley. He also shows promise as an elite 3-and-D guard, which is a significant asset for the team.

The Raptors will have the 31st pick in the second round of tomorrow’s Draft Night. These are the only two picks Toronto holds in this year’s draft.
