Breaking: Auburn Football Gets Major Boost With New Signing

In today’s Auburn Tigers News, the football team has bolstered its roster with a late transfer and sees a running back commit actively recruiting others to join the Plains.

Defensive Back Jahquez Robinson Joins Auburn

This weekend, Auburn football welcomed defensive back transfer Jahquez Robinson. Hailing from Jacksonville, Florida, Robinson began his collegiate career at Alabama, playing three seasons before transferring to Colorado last year.

Out of high school, Robinson was a 4-star prospect, ranked as the #21 cornerback in the 2020 recruiting class. He was initially recruited to Alabama by then-associate defensive coordinator Charles Kelly, whom he later followed to Colorado. Now, Robinson will be playing under Kelly again, but this time in Auburn’s orange and blue.

During his 2023 season with Colorado, Robinson recorded eight tackles and an interception. With two years of eligibility remaining, he joins the Tigers primarily to add depth to a secondary that has seen significant losses.

Running Back Commit Alvin Henderson Leads Recruiting Efforts

In addition to Robinson, Auburn also secured a commitment from 4-star running back Alvin Henderson over the weekend. Henderson, who had been a longtime target for Auburn, initially committed to Penn State in April. However, he revealed that head coach Hugh Freeze and the Tigers’ relentless pursuit played a key role in his decision to switch his commitment to Auburn.

Henderson expressed his satisfaction with finalizing his recruitment and is now shifting his focus to bringing more high-quality talent to Auburn. According to Auburn Undercover, he has his eyes on defensive backs Blake Woodby and Anquon Fegans, as well as Elijah Menendez, a 4-star linebacker currently committed to Miami.

“I was Miami’s No. 1 recruit for a minute,” Henderson said regarding his top targets. “I was able to bond with him when I was considering them… We in-state guys are going to take care of Auburn ourselves. Our main goal is going out and getting guys who can do the job.
