Miami Football Secures Third Straight Commitment with Amari Wallace
The Miami football program received its third consecutive commitment in the 2025 class with four-star safety Amari Wallace announcing his decision on Thursday night via a post on X. This follows commitments from three-star offensive linemen Demetrius Campbell and Jaden Wilkerson on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
Wallace’s commitment significantly boosts Miami’s 2025 recruiting class rankings. With his addition, Miami’s standing jumped from the forties to 31st in the 247Sports composite rankings and 19th in the On3 Industry Rankings. Steve Wiltfong of On3 projected four commitments for Miami, including Wallace, Campbell, and Wilkerson, with the remaining spot likely filled by cornerback Chris Ewald or defensive lineman Derry Norris.
Ewald is set to visit Georgia this weekend and will announce his commitment to either Georgia or Miami on June 27, with Miami being the favorite. Norris has yet to set a commitment date, but Miami remains the frontrunner for his pledge. Currently, Miami lacks a defensive lineman commitment for the 2025 class, making Norris a crucial target.

Wallace is the second defensive back committed to Miami in the 2025 class, joining cornerback Timothy Merritt. Rated as the 278th overall prospect, the 24th safety, and the 40th player in Florida, Wallace hails from Miami Central. Andrew Ivins of 247Sports praises Wallace as a versatile half-field safety with extensive range, known for his playmaking abilities throughout high school.
In the 2025 Miami class, Wallace ranks as the third-highest commit, behind tight end Brock Schott and running back Girard Pringle Jr. Alongside Wallace, Miami’s defensive commitments for 2025 include linebacker Elijah Melendez and cornerback Timothy Merritt. The Hurricanes anticipate additional defensive commitments in the coming weeks, led by Ewald.
