SAD NEWS: Trojans Faced Major Setback With the Deaprture of the Five-star Elite Talent…

Five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry has decommitted from Southern California’s 2025 class, marking the second top prospect to withdraw their commitment in as many days. This follows the decommitment of five-star defensive end Isaiah Gibson on Tuesday. Terry announced his decision on social media, stating, “My recruitment is open!! #Decommitted #1shot, #Givemeeverythingyougot.”

Terry’s commitment to USC under coach Lincoln Riley was brief. Initially committed to Georgia since January 16, 2023, he changed his mind on March 24 and chose USC. Hailing from Manchester, Georgia, Terry is ranked as the No. 2 defensive lineman and the No. 7 overall player in the nation according to the 247Sports composite.

Isaiah Gibson, from Warner Robins, Georgia, is ranked as the No. 2 edge rusher and the No. 36 overall player in the 2025 class. Despite these setbacks, another Georgia prospect, Julian Lewis, remains committed to USC as the No. 2 quarterback and the No. 9 overall player in the class.

The decommitments of Terry and Gibson have significantly impacted USC’s recruiting class ranking, dropping it from No. 3 to No. 15 nationally. Meanwhile, Ohio State maintains the top spot in the 2025 class rankings, followed by Notre Dame and Alabama, according to 247Sports.
