GOOD NEWS: Titans Ground Set to Lands Another Sensational Star With a Contract worth…

Titans Coach Shares Enthusiasm Over Calvin Ridley’s Signing

The Tennessee Titans made a significant move this offseason by acquiring a star player from one of their division rivals. New head coach Brian Callahan recognizes the impact of this acquisition.

Calvin Ridley signed a 4-year, $92 million contract with the Titans in March. Many had anticipated the veteran wide receiver would stay with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but reports indicated that his former team did not come close to matching the Titans’ offer.

Callahan expressed his excitement about Ridley’s signing during the latest episode of “The Adam Schefter Podcast,” released on Tuesday. The first-year head coach praised Ridley highly and noted the added satisfaction of taking him from a division rival.

“I believe in everything he’s about. He’s a pro’s pro and he’s got real talent. He’s one of the better route-runners I’ve been around — really sudden, really fast, really explosive,” Callahan said. “On top of it, he’s a great personality. To have him here and be able to steal him from a division rival certainly makes it a little sweeter.”

Callahan, who spent the last five seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC North, is already strategizing on how to gain an edge over his new division rivals.

Ridley had an impressive season with Jacksonville last year, recording 76 catches for 1,016 yards and 8 touchdowns. While the lucrative contract was likely a major factor in his decision to join the Titans, Ridley also mentioned another reason for his choice.
