Paul Finebaum Show guests are known for their controversial opinions, and Michael Bratton of “That SEC Podcast” recently made a particularly bold claim.
Bratton asserted that the Texas A&M Aggies would outperform the Texas Longhorns, a 2023 College Football Playoff participant, in the SEC. “I think Texas A&M finishes better than Texas this year in the SEC,” Bratton stated. This prediction left Finebaum momentarily speechless before he responded.
After a pause, Finebaum asked for clarification, prompting Bratton to elaborate on his prediction. He envisioned both teams finishing with records around 9-3 or 10-2, but he believed the crucial difference would come down to the final game of the regular season in College Station. Bratton also expressed skepticism about Texas, claiming they are overrated due to their performance in the Big 12 last year.
Despite Texas’ dominant win over SEC titleholder Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Bratton doubts the Longhorns can handle the rigors of the SEC. The true test will come when Texas and Texas A&M face off over Thanksgiving weekend on November 30 in College Station.
