The Kalen DeBoer era is off to an exciting start, as he recently welcomed four-star offensive lineman Mario Nash to campus, a significant addition to the roster ahead of the 2024 season.
Nash, a standout from De Kalb, Mississippi, joined his high school teammate and 2026 running back Damarius Yates for a visit to Alabama’s camp on Thursday afternoon. This visit came after Nash received an offer from Alabama earlier this month, following a visit by Robert Gillespie to Kemper County High School during the open contact period.
The 6-foot-4, 270-pound offensive lineman had previously visited the campus when DeBoer was first appointed head coach, prior to Chris Kapilovic’s appointment as the offensive line coach. This recent visit provided Nash the opportunity to meet with Kapilovic and have a more in-depth discussion with Coach DeBoer.
In an interview with Bama247, Nash, ranked as the No. 14 offensive lineman in the country, shared his thoughts on the visit and his plans for future visits. Nash’s interest in scheduling a fall official visit highlights the ongoing recruiting momentum under Coach DeBoer’s leadership.
As the team continues to build a strong roster for the upcoming season, the addition of talents like Mario Nash will be crucial for achieving success on the field. The excitement surrounding the program is palpable as DeBoer and his staff work tirelessly to bring in top-tier recruits and enhance the team’s prospects for the future.
