The Milwaukee Bucks’ forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo’s future became increasingly uncertain after the 31-year-old sustained a serious Achilles injury at the season’s end. Milwaukee Bucks News: Update on Thanasis Antetokounmpo’s Injury
Harris Stavrou of SPORT24 reports that the elder Antetokounmpo is ambitiously aiming for a return to basketball just six months post-surgery. Traditionally, this type of injury sidelines players for an entire season, making Thanasis’ target of a six-month recovery notably optimistic.
“Thanasis Antetokounmpo is pushing hard to return to action in about six months. He will support the Greek national team in the pre-Olympic tournament in Piraeus and will enter free agency this offseason,” Stavrou reported.
However, it remains uncertain if Thanasis will meet this recovery goal. His return will heavily depend on how well his body responds to surgery and rehabilitation.
Despite the uncertainty, this news offers a glimmer of hope for the Antetokounmpo family and fans, as the veteran player seeks a contract extension with the Bucks this summer.
