BREAKING NEWS: Jannik Sinner Responds to Novak Djokovic’s Comment Amid Threat for Number One Status After Paris Win…

Jannik Sinner has taken the lead in the race to finish the French Open as the world number one. The 22-year-old Italian, who claimed his first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in January, is currently ahead of Novak Djokovic in the live rankings.

Despite injury concerns prior to the tournament, Sinner advanced to the second round at Roland Garros with a commanding 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 victory over American Christopher Eubanks.

Djokovic, who reclaimed the top spot in the rankings in September, now faces a tough challenge. The 37-year-old Serbian must reach at least the final in Paris to have a chance of retaining his number one status.

Expressing his mindset going into the tournament, Djokovic remarked that he has “low expectations and high hopes” of defending his title. He is set to play French wild card Pierre-Hugues Herbert in his first-round match on Tuesday.
