Breaking News: Duke Basketball Loss Another Sensational Star Due To…

Duke Miles, a standout guard and first-team All-Big South player for the 2023-24 season, is officially joining the Oklahoma Sooners. This marks the fourth of six key transfer additions for Oklahoma this offseason.

Porter Moser and the Oklahoma Sooners have bolstered their roster with another significant acquisition. High Point transfer guard Duke Miles, who chose OU over Auburn on May 3, has officially signed with the Sooners, as announced by the program on Tuesday afternoon. Miles joins other notable transfers: Kobe Elvis from Dayton, Brycen Goodine from Fairfield, and Jadon Jones from Long Beach State.

The Sooners are yet to officially announce the signings of Alabama transfer Mohamed Wague and top JUCO transfer Jeff Nwankwo, but these additions are expected to be confirmed soon.

“Duke is a highly effective and efficient scorer,” Moser said in a release. “He can score at all three levels and makes everyone around him better. Duke is a proven winner and helped High Point win 27 games last season.”

Miles, standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 182 pounds, was a first-team All-Big South selection in his sole season at High Point, where he averaged a career-high 17.5 points per game along with 3.6 assists per game. His impressive performance earned him the Big South Newcomer of the Year title, having started 27 of the 33 games he played, leading High Point to a 27-9 overall record. Miles’ 17.5 points per game was the second-highest scoring average in the Big South last season.

Miles’ previous career-high scoring average was 14 points per game in the 2022-23 season at Troy. He significantly boosted his performance last season, shooting a career-best 52.8% from the field, including 60.1% on shots inside the arc, 36.1% from three-point range, and a career-high 80.1% from the free-throw line.

In addition to his scoring prowess, Miles averaged 3.6 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game last season at High Point.

Originally from Montgomery, Alabama, Miles spent his first three collegiate seasons at Troy before transferring to High Point. He will have one year of eligibility remaining with Oklahoma, joining the Sooners’ new-look roster as they prepare for their inaugural season in the SEC.
