Breaking News: Cardinals’ Rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. Faces Lawsuit for Alleged Breach of Contract
Arizona Cardinals rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is embroiled in legal trouble as apparel giant Fanatics has filed a lawsuit against him, alleging breach of contract.
The lawsuit, submitted to the New York Supreme Court on Saturday, claims that Harrison failed to meet his contractual obligations, resulting in damages estimated to be in the “millions of dollars.”
Harrison, who was a standout receiver at Ohio State, signed the deal with Fanatics in 2023. He was selected by the Cardinals with the No. 4 overall pick in last month’s NFL draft. While the specific details of the contract remain redacted, Harrison has publicly denied the existence of any such agreement.
According to an ESPN report, the contract was worth at least $1 million and covered autographs, signed trading cards, game-worn apparel, and other marketing opportunities.
Harrison, who does not have an agent, has been represented by his father, Hall of Fame receiver Marvin Harrison. Notably, Harrison Jr. has not yet signed the NFL Players Association’s group licensing agreement, which would permit the association to market his name, image, and likeness.
When approached for comment on Sunday, the Cardinals stated they had no comment regarding the lawsuit.
