49ers Trending News: Star Player’s Reaction to Social Media Incident Goes Viral!
Willie Snead IV Deletes Social Media Account After Criticizing Team
Willie Snead IV, a wide receiver from the 2023 San Francisco 49ers NFC Championship team, recently stirred up controversy with a series of social media posts that caught significant attention from fans. The free agent wide receiver has since deleted his account.
Snead’s initial post on his X account took a jab at his previous teams, including the San Francisco 49ers and the Carolina Panthers. In his message, Snead criticized the 49ers for fostering a sense of entitlement within the team. He suggested that the culture in San Francisco’s locker room prevented players from genuinely competing for playing time:
“All I want is to go back to a team that isn’t afraid to let guys compete for a roster spot. These last 3 years been nothing short of entitlement… Competition breeds Champions,” Snead wrote.
Following this, Snead expressed his desire to play in the AFC North, indicating his preference for a return to the physically demanding division:
“I need to be back in the AFC North. That brand of football is just different,” he wrote.
The posts drew a mixed reaction from fans, particularly those of the 49ers, who were not pleased with his comments about the team. This backlash may have contributed to Snead’s decision to delete his X account. Although his X account is no longer active, his Instagram account remains operational. The exact reasons for his account deletion are not entirely clear.
